Global Events & Politics Überthread

Rachel maddow reporting that Bolton sat in on an anti Muslim think tank on the day that more likely than not 7 people were killed in the name of Islam.

You can't make this up. The left is clueless

You going to update this one, hoss?

Kudos to you for showing up when it doesn't end up being Islamic Terrorism.

Hope you show up the other 99% of the time when it is. You know for the sake of being intellectually honest and not a crazy ideologue.

How many recent murders and mass killings in the US and Canada have been committed by people who are influenced by far right or white supremacist ideology? Who's "not showing up?" here?

What's that body count look like, and is it worth your breathless assumptions about culpability?

Why is this a US Canada issue? This is a global issue.

But I guess we can just ignore 9/11 because that inconvenient event tilts the scale a bit domestically.

Because you breathlessly
post about every potential terrorist event, even if it turns out not to have been perpetrated by Islamists, but completely ignore the ones--sometimes the very same events-- when their perpetrated by right
-wing extremists.

Now, personally, I don't think that either one is an existential threat, either corporeally, or civilly.
But I think that it's potentially as dangerous to mainstream, or even benignly ignore, domestic extremism as it would be the other.

Show me those armies of domestic terrorists please....

I'll wait with baited breath.

A pretty big ****ing deal:

I'm still waiting for you to demonstrate that this is both valid and relevant.

That there aren't armies of Islamic Terrorists in the world? Is that an actual question?

Its not relevant to compare domestic terrorism and Islamic terrorism in their scope and their global impact? Is that an actual question?

Denuclearization would be a tangible takeaway for America (and Japan), but it's actually a fairly small component in the grand scheme of the unification puzzle.
