That depends on how you define legitimate. I think the WaPo is a fairly balanced media source.

Anyone with a clue knows what has been happening. This war should have been resolved at the onset by giving territory to Russia that was stolen from their people (eastern Ukraine is primarily ethnic Russian) from the 2014 coup. All those lives and all that money could have been saved.

Russia wouldn’t be playing footsie with the ccp. And we’d have more money to address the massive illegal issue in America.

I think of it more as ramifications for executing a coup against the will of the eastern Ukrainians.
