there was an adulterous affair followed by a suicide followed by a murder up the road from my house last week.
being that adultery is spelled out in the 10 Commandments --- should we assume this situation (by your logic) as an indictment against generational entrenched Christianity ?

well yeah, religions and Islam specifically are disgusting. Could you explain to me how a wall would have prevented this. Could you also explain to me why an illegal immigrant doing something bad is an indictment on all illegal aliens but a cop doing something bad is just an isolated incident. I am really excited with this logic your using to prove your point. If I post a story every day of a priest sexually violating children I am confident you will see it the same way.

British man sends a good letter to MPs encouraging changes to assisted suicide laws after he and his wife were investigated for their planned trip to Switzerland to end his life. His wife could have faced 14 years in prison. They said they were very hurt by the police questioning but they declined to charge her which was the right thing to do. This is what I expect from police. Did she breal the law. Absolutely. Is it in the publics interest or anyway endangering the public? No. Prosecution would only serve to terrorize an innocent family.

No matter what they ask you to do "I was just doing my job" is a legitimate excuse. Remember Catalonia trying a non binding independence vote? The government owns you. They own your children. They own your property. And they have a monopoly on violence.

Boris Johnson is facing private prosecution for lies about Brexit. I had no idea about private prosecution. After looking it up it did exist in the US for some time. Go figure the case where the Supreme Court buried it was after some prisoners got arrest warrants for 4 guards beating them during a riot. Leeke v Timmerman. That case affirmed the precedent from another case in which an unwed mother got an arrest warrant for the father of her child for not supporting it. The Supreme Court ruled that convicting him would result in incarceration and she still would not get monetary support so therefore they say she has no interest in which to bring the charges. It sounds like a good way to hold police accountable when LE refuses to prosecute but like most things, I think it would end up being perverted by police to abuse citizens.
