Yeah, southern Europe is the place for me. Most of Europe is too cold for my liking.
I'm a big fan of Denmark and Copenhagen. Most underrated city in Europe. But yeah go during the summer.

In theory but not practice. I've thought about spending a winter in Maine. Sort of on bucket list. Sort of is doing some work there. Not a fan of fireplaces roaring with snow outside?
I suppose the waterfalls are beautiful and that becomes irrelevant in the frozen winters.

Nope. I'm happiest in my dorky jorts and flip-flops.

10 to 1 odds you'd grow to hate it in under a month. I mean not if you're in a city like Portland, etc. cause there's still things to do. But when your'e up here and it's -20 you aren't doing **** outside.
I have a distinct memory of some february I want to say it was 2017 or 2018. We had a dumping of snow then a ton of high wind and cold. We took our dog out to use the bathroom, we didn't even make it to the end of the block before my dog was jumping at me telling me to turn around. This was the dog we had to walk 2-3 miles a day. He was too cold to walk a quarter mile. It was something like -40 with windchill. I was wearing 2 layers then snow pants and winter coat, and balacava with a beanie over it and my heavy gloves. It was brutal, I couldn't imagine how cold my dog was.
There was one February years ago, where going into the month I told my wife that I would bet the high would never get over 32F. And it never did.
