It’s shocking that North Korea isn’t willing to take

the same deal that Trump just broke with Iran.

couldn't have said it better myself

1) There is no deal with North Korea. There are no known parameters for a deal with North Korea.
2) North Korea actually has nuclear weapons.
3) Iran does not.

It is a common fact that while the rest of the world fights and argues over mid eastern oil.
Mid eastern countries fight and argue over water.

always angry boy is right about that 1 thing

i really don't care about the release of 3 americans from north korea

didn't care that they were locked up for going to that country and pushing the boundaries of what is accepted when it happened, don't care they are out now.

good for them but i genuinely don't care

i'd be more impressed if he freed all the nonviolent drug offenders in this country though. that would actually be something

haha - this post is an instant classic.

also, i like how being a visiting professor is "pushing of the boundaries of what is accepted"

but the unaffiliated, completely random freeing of all nonviolent drug offenders is a cherry on top of the crazy cake.

ok

I am old enough to remember ...

While Trump supporters immediately began drafting their letters to the Nobel Prize committee, Trump’s acquiescence was exactly that—a surrender; a huge gift to North Korea. Agreeing to the meeting at the highest possible level without first requiring that North Korea agree to limitations on its actions represented a huge boost for the status of the North Korean regime. Where meetings between North and South Korea over the past year have been hopeful, Trump’s actions, far from offering a way out of the escalating threats on the peninsula, only confirm that North Korea has been on the right course.

I think it can be safely said the Kim Jung-un called Trump's bluff of "fire and fury" with a pair of 2's

This whole “meeting is in jeopardy” mess is why I wanted to wait on the victory campaign.

I don’t believe the narrative that Kim had a real plan with this either other than what his family has been doing for decades though

It’s not actually in jeopardy. It’s going to happen.

Kim and Trump share an equity in ensuring the meeting itself occurs — to say nothing of the results.

No, not at all
I hope it goes off and goes well.

I like Mana... above think we should wait to see a) if it happens and b) what happens! c) what are we getting and what are we giving up before handing out participation trophies or garland wreaths.
And that will take a few years

Like the article I posted says, Kim has already won round 1.

Sure.

Lol. The struggle is real.

Like the article I posted says, Kim has already won round 1.

Against my better judgement, I found the "article" (spoiler alert: Daily KOS is a blog that posts opinion pieces from users ... not news, not articles) you were referring to and, perhaps unsurprisingly given your track record with reading comprehension, the author doesn't make this claim.

Could you summarize your belief?

How has Kim "already won" round 1?

First of all, what was round 1?

You summarize meaning your words.

I think a first real test of bona fides here is whether or not Kim continues with the demolition at Punggye-ri.

I was told that the site was falling apart anyways, and that it didn't really matter if Kim destroyed it or not.

But I'm sure if he hedges here ... round 2 victory?

I think there is a lot of misunderstanding of what Kim wants. He wants to be seen as important, as a big player on the world stage. That's all. Everything is geared toward creating that appearance. The question is do we deny him this or give it to him. And if we give it to him what can we extract in return. Its not that complicated.
