Turkey and Saudi Arabia have been on opposing sides on a variety of issues. To me the interesting question is why Turkey is choosing to use this information in the way it is. It could have blackmailed the Saudis with it or used it in more subtle ways.

But it would appear to have decided to use the information to decapitate the Saudi royal family.
 
Personally, I think this is the opportunity we have been looking for to invade Saudi Arabia, take over the oil fields and replace Wahhabism with Taoism. The geopolitical opportunity of a lifetime. And who would have thought that Erdogan would have been the one to present it to us on a platter.

He wasnt at the consulate.
He was at the consulate but we didn't do anything to him.
Ok so we interrogated him but we didnt kill him.
Ok we interrogated him and something accidentally went wrong but he wasnt murdered.
Ok we interrogated him and his fingers were chopped off and body was beheaded and cut into pieces but we didnt have anything to do with it.

Saudi counsul is said to be on the tape saying "do this outside, your going to get me in trouble" to which one of the killers responded "shut up if you want to live when you return to Arabia". Me thinks he is on borrowed time right now.




What I dont understand is why they didnt just suicide him. Thats how the CIA does it and no one catches them. Just ask Gary Webb who put 2 bullets in the back of his head for exposing the CIA trafficking cocaine.

Next thing you know Fox News will report he had marijuana in his pocket when he entered the embassy.
 
That made me laugh. I fully expect this to end with SA aaying "yeah we killed him and he deserved it" with something like tax fraud.
 
Just so we’re clear the on the state of play on Khashoggi’s murder...after two weeks of denials, KSA now says that he died in the consulate, as a presumably accidental result of a fist fight. Yes, this is what they’re going with.

So the 15 guys they flew into Turkey to abduct him were so threatened by a paunchy 60-year-old’s deciding to throw knuckles that they were forced to kill him. I guess, like so many of our boys in blue, that they must have feared for their lives.

And, of course, the line is that MBS merely approved of abducting and interrogating him, not KILLING him, for god’s sake. So he sent members of his personal detail on a mission of kidnaping and rendition that just, oops, totally accidentally turned into a murder.
 
thank God we have a moral leader in charge to hold these people accountable and isn't worried that he personally makes money from them

See, junk like this Khashoggi mess is why I default to minimum entanglement in the Middle East. As soon as some leader or group seems somewhat aligned to our interests they pull some craziness that makes you want to never look at them again.

I didn't like Obama's Drone Wars, but I get the desire to just sit back and play whack-a-mole from a distance.

one thing we could do is build a big stadium around some of these countries and sell tickets

I know it's a terrible time to joke about this. Saw something online that said:

"Jamal Khashoggi eliminated first in 15 man fist fight at WWE Greatest Royal Rumble 2".

I hate the internets sometimes for making me laugh at these things.

My favorite comedians all make jokes about inappropriate things.

Oddly enough, just watched Gervais' Netflix special about this where he comes after the PC/SJW crowd for not being able to separate the line between jokes about inappropriate things and jokes about victims of unfortunate events (a joke about rape versus joking someone in particular was raped).

The joke above is just funny to me because 1) the Saudi PR spin job about this event in a week has been so awfully handled it's laughable. Seems they hired the Trump PR team who's handled the Trump Tower Meeting spin. 2) I've watched WWE's PR spin to this since Day 1 and it's been predictable every step of the way. Vince McMahon has always whored himself out for money, and WWE has received a bunch of heavy negative PR for their Saudi show earlier this year and the one they planned on doing in a few weeks. Vince is good friends with Donald, and his wife was chosen by Don to be Small Business Administration Head.
