More than 1 million Iraqis out in the streets

today telling America to get the f*** out of Iraq.

Absolutely amazing.

On the plus side we can now abandon this idea that the Iraqi government is legitimate. They are just there to give the illusion of self rule to the Iraqis.

Anne Applebaum with a deep look at what has happened to Venezuela.

Last paragraph is worth quoting:

I am tempted to end here with a warning, because Venezuela does represent the conclusion to a lot of processes we see in the world today. Venezuela is the end game of ideological Marxism; the culmination of the assault on democracy, courts, and the press now unfolding in so many countries; and the outer limit of the politics of polarization. But I don’t want, as so many have done, to treat Venezuela as just a symbol. It’s a real place, and the hardships faced by the people who live there have not ended, culminated, or been limited at all. Whatever the United States and other members of the international community do next in Venezuela, the goal should be to help real Venezuelans, not to further an ideological argument, especially as the humanitarian and political crises deepen and spread.

The thing with Venezuela is there issue wasn't Marxism, or anything else, it was that they were so reliant on the high price of oil. It falls back to the same issue that's going to happen to the US shortly where our economy can easily have it's bubble popped and if it does, there will be a lot of people hurting. We barely avoided it in 2008, and we could be heading back that way.

Russia approved resetting Putin's eligibility to be President again so he can run for 2 more terms when this term ends in 2024. Only 1 person in their Congress voted against it. RIP to that person.

Manning attempts suicide in jail where she is being help for refusing to testify against Assange. I wonder what Trump tards would think if someone was thrown in jail for refusing to testify against Trump. If Assange ever is extradited here I think this is good cause for Jury Nullification but I assume the government will highly vet anyone on the jury for any trace of not being a boot licker. I already know they specifically filed the case to get the Judge they want that is ridiculously pro-government. I already know where Creepy Joe stands on this issue.

Manning has been released! Could you imagine if someone close to the President was thrown in jail until they testified against Trump? The right would lose their minds. I think it says a lot about to what extent the government can go to to compel testimony of a private citizen as opposed to what happens when the President is credibly accused of a crime. Its a rigged system. Manning got no day in court. Got no jury. Go straight to jail. Do not pass go. Do not collect your constitutional rights.

But let me try and grab your attention for a few moments and point you in a different direction. How many of you noticed a rather disturbing New York Times story from Mark Mazzetti and Eric Schmitt last week that was headlined, “Pentagon Order to Plan for Escalation in Iraq Meets Warning From Top Commander”? You didn’t? Well, in the midst of all the virus-related doom and gloom, it managed to send new shivers down my spine

Neither US or China has any right to be anywhere on the UN human rights council. They are the countries the UN human rights council should be telling countries to sanction until they get their **** together.
