The move followed the discovery of what palace officials described as a complex and far-reaching plot that including at least one other Jordanian royal as well as tribal leaders and members of the country’s security establishment.

Arkansas’ governor on Monday vetoed a ban on gender-affirming medical care for transgender youths, calling the legislation a “vast government overreach” and a “product of the cultural war in America.”

Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R) said that if signed into law, the bill would interfere with physicians and parents “as they deal with some of the most complex and sensitive matters involving young people.”

New Zealand has broken with its “Five Eyes” intelligence partners, including the UK, as it pursues a closer alliance with China, its largest trading partner.

New Zealand’s foreign minister said she would not allow the intelligence alliance to dictate the country’s dealings with China, putting it at odds with the other members of the ‘Five Eyes’ alliance: the UK, US, Canada and Australia.

I think NZ has been diverging from the alliance for a while, but it's still a sign of how how dangerous China's economic power has become. Taiwan, Philippines, Australia, and several of the smaller countries are also susceptible. That's why the idea of standing against a lone China with a host if allies has always been a foolish notion.

Wonder how much of New Zealand’s stance is the 30% of its population which isn’t white and feels closer to China?
 
Well the TPP that was killed addressed this issue with NZ so they wouldn't have to be so reliant on trading with China. But that was killed. So now we have this.
 
I think you're overestimating the benefits of the TPP. Trump's killing of it wasn't really that controversial outside of TDS circles.
