Not to introduce too much subtlety into the discussion of genocide, but what happened in Bucha was a war crime not genocide.
Now if you multiply Bucha a thousand times, if there is a general Russian policy to raze every Ukrainian city, town and village and kill its inhabitants, then it is genocide.
In general it is hard to identify a genocide in real time because you need a sense of scale and the official policy behind it.
But war crime is plenty bad and should send many including Vlad the Dim to the gallows.
