GM/Winter Meetings Thread

On the topic of GM/Winter Meetings.....has anyone ever been to the Winter Meetings? I'm going to be in San Diego that week and staying across the street from the hotel it's held at.

Should be a good time...you may even be able to get a round of golf in with John Hart in between his meetings with teams/agents....and if you do please enlighten us if his phone rings and the discussions he is having.

While true I seriously doubt the Braves wanted to bring Juan back.

Fredi hasn't "seen what he's got against left handers" enough yet to make an evaluation whether or not he would be a productive platoon partner with CJ so we didn't want to take all of that risk.

Marlins supposedly have a 2/20 offer to LaRoche per rotoworld.

Would give Stanton a little protection.

Tigers have had preliminary trade contact with the Astros on catchers, sources say. Houston could move Castro, Corporan, or Conger.

Get on the horn, John boys. I can't see the Tigers not wanting Gattis.

I remain unconvinced that Bethancourt is a better long-term option than Gattis, but one can only tilt at so many windmills.

I'm convinced of precious little regarding the Braves long-term right now, broadly speaking.

I do think that if the Braves are bent on trading Gattis his value might just be at its precipice (accounting for service time, health, etc.)

MLB network reporting Justin Upton took Seattle off his no-trade list... wonder if thats a pre-cursor to a trade.. seems odd since there are report of us being in on leter and Tomas..

This was announced well before the Heyward trade, BTW. He is limited to four teams and they are Cubs, Indians, Blue Jays and Brewers.
