I read Lawrence Wright's book, which the film was apparently based on, and it was the most comprehensive (and, believe it or not, fair) discussion of Scientology that I've ever read. Look forward to seeing the film.

Got the rerun of it set to the dvr. Pretty bold account from what I saw. Some of those people giving first hand info were in it for 30 years....

I watched it. Was really good. I don't think I ever fully realized how bat**** crazy the Scientologist belief system actually is, or that it's a multi-billion dollar enterprise. One of my favorite movies is still Battlefield Earth, though.

Scientologists "belief" system is totally bat**** insane. But that happens when a sci-fi writer makes a religion as a tax dodge.

For a good not-direct Satirical take, watch the episode of Sunny that was just on recently, Ass-kickers. It pokes fun at most cults, but has a good moment where they pick on the auditing of Scientology.

At least Mormonism does good for the community even if their founding is insane.

You haven't heard Tom Cruise talk?
