Going for the sweep vs padres 4/17 GDT

Back to where I expected.

Sad!

If thats the norm on a Monday night against one of the worst teams in baseball then it will be great. Atlanta is never going to lead the league in attendance. There are so many more revenue streams with this ballpark its a no-brainer.

Monday night with school in session against the Pads is not a bad draw honestly. especially starting later than last year.

Its more of the same Matt. Now that the Braves are winning some games another negative has to be injected into the conversation.

People are negative. It's just how the mind tends to go.

We win five in a row: "Well, it's against the lowly Padres."

We sweep the Nats? "Well, luck happens... it's early."

That's life!

Turner Field averaged in its first season what Suntrust's max capacity is.

Yes Id be a little concerned because if traffic issues are real then attendance on non-marquee days going to be pretty subpar for a new park.

couple things though..
Braves were great when Turner opened.
Avg will go up during summer when kids out and people travel more
I generally think less people go to games as a whole because TV's and easy access..

Suntrust will need to marinate a bit and fans will come back. The only thing I would be concerned with is the prices I am hearing. If things are that expensive, it might keep some fans away as well.

Trust me it wasn't cheap. Went to three games. Thats why I do find some concern with the low number. I know it's a Monday night against the Pads but I think at minimum we should be averaging close to 30k a night for a new ballpark on weekdays.

Remember a big selling point to moving was having the games closer to the "fanbase" up North. The crappy Braves the last few years were averaging 24k attendance at Turner Field. With the being closer to the fan base factor that should have increase a game like this up closer to around 30k.

The Yankees only got 28k for last night's game. The Yankees...

The only excuse for this that I can think of is that the writer got to 29 teams and then had to go look for which team he forgot. He found out it was the Braves and just put them in at the end. We shouldn't be very high on the list but we definitely should be higher than the likes of the Padres or Phillies.

Didn't know the Yankees opened up a new park.

Also didnt know the Yankees moved their new park to be closer to where their numbers say was the base and core area of fans who purchased a ticket.

Also considering the Yanks have better public transportation access to their place compared to us that few thousand helped out.
