Golden At Bat rule

I refuse to actually read about this rule. But have they even consider the possibility that the golden hitters original spot comes around while he is on base? Top 9, tie game 7th place hitter hits a double no outs. Stankees decide to use Soto for the 8th place hitter and he singles. Then the 9th hitter K’s. 1 hole walks and 2 hole walks. Now Soto is on 3rd and due up at the plate. Do you put in a pinch runner?

What a dumb idea.

I think they should make the guy that was bumped by the Golden AB should have to hit in that situation. It's a spectacularly stupid idea.

I have an idea for a new rule. If both teams agree they can ban 1 an umpire from working home plate. This way we can actually do something if a home plate umpire refuses to do their job correctly.

Ghost runner on third, duh!

I hate the Golden At Bat rule more than words can say ... but coupled with Chipper's Rusty At Bat add-on -- where the defense can also sub one batter in one at bat -- I could almost love it. I'd rather the Savannah Bananas do it, but it makes me laugh.

I think if the Golden AB was gonna be a thing it would have to be a crazy double edged sword. Like both players involved have to be removed from the game after the PA. So if the player gets a non HR hit they'd have to be PR for. Also the Golden AB couldn't be taken by a DH

maybe we are looking at this all wrong.. maybe if the league imposes this new rule it might just shut down Twit's brain completely and we can finally complain about a new, younger manager.

Who would be the Braves golden AB, down 1, 2 outs, man on 1st. Assume full health. Assume optimal handedness (rights vs lefty, lefty vs righty). No IBB possibility

Depends on all the rules. I'd probably say all Acuña if there were no consequences

I also think that when the Golden AB player is announced the opposing team should have the option to bring in a new pitcher for the Golden AB even if the 3 batter minimum hasn't been met

Is this still a thing? I was hoping this was a nightmare from too much pain meds and chemo. This cancer is kicking my ass.

When I was in the icu last year for two weeks. It was the silliness and craziness of this place that helped me as well.

Stay strong and get better.

Thank you. I’m one of those guys that falls in the middle of old school dinosaur baseball and the new analytics. So I enjoy the banter back and forth because most of the time I see merit on both sides. lol. When it comes to baseball I feel I have multiple personality disorder
