I just spent a hour outside in the heat washing my clubs with warm water + soap and a toothbrush.
I think I have a problem.
So do most golfers with mis hits. Tiger is just covered so much by the media he cant get away with it.
Why would you spend so much time cleaning clubs? Just dip it in the cleaner on the course and use a brush. Wa la.
Plus, you are nowhere near good enough that a dirty club vs. a clean one would make a difference.
Golf has come in handy for business clients... It's a great way to "take a day off" and get some major work accomplished.
In two year, I've gon from averaging high 90's to low 80's. Scored a 78 a month ago.
I disagree will GF on this. A dirty club probably won't make much difference on one shot, but the little things will make a difference in golf. Golf is all about the pre-shot process - getting yardage, good stance, grip, relaxing, not being too aggressive, etc, etc. You've got to put your best swing on it and using a club with clean grooves is part of that because once you've hit the ball you have NO control. If you focus too much on the end result you'll just end up cursing, throwing clubs and making yourself miserable. Its just something I took enjoyment out of. I know it won't make a difference but its nice to have shiny new clubs again!
Meh, a dirty club with dirty grooves might reduce some of that side spin... just sayin'
Completely agree. Pride and respect for the game means more care and diligent attention to the details, which is huge in any sport you take seriously. This directly translates into more focus and less careless mistakes.Gotta disagree with Giles here. While clean clubs may or may not produce better results on contact, any golfer knows that the mental game is the most important part of your game. If clean, new looking clubs make you feel better about your game and give you more confidence, then that itself is probably worth a few less strokes in a round.
Have to do well on the Par 5's here. I like Bubba!
