Guess Harris debut date

Let's guess the debut date of Harris. Winner gets...mad props.

I say June 20th to open the homestand vs the Giants.

We tend to give guys two months to work through their issues, which is plenty for Duvall, and which is also plenty of time for Demerritte to turn into a pumpkin. Ima say he goes to Arizona with them on Monday 5/30.

Adding a 4-5 WAR player at midseason could give us the juice we need to repeat.

We're going to be just fine.

Lol… that’s cute that you think Harris is just gonna be a 4-5 WAR player the minute he gets into the league.

May of 2023.

He still has only a handful of at bats in AA. Still 22 or 23. Missed a year with COVID. I don't think they jump him up now.

Acuña was a generational talent, and everyone knew that before he set foot in the big leagues. Him being an impact player right away wasn’t some shock. Harris, at this point, isn’t even a top 50 prospect.

exactly.. if you ever start an opinion with.. 'yeah, but acuna did ____' then immediatedly change your opinion.

It was not unanimous. There were doubters. Fred McGriff and then much later Chipper were the ones sounding the alarms first. Saying he'd be an MVP type.

Marquis Grissom says Harris has a chance to be left handed Acuna. I trust these old players more than most on here apparently.

Obviously, Grissom COULD be way off, and the power never comes. And Harris is Eaton. That's still a great player. 4-5 WAR.

But I'm inclined to believe Marquis is at least close to being correct.

Enscheff is the smartest baseball forum poster I've ever seen, and even he whiffed bigly on Austin Riley. He really is Troy ****ing Glaus. There were posters mocked on this forum for saying that.

You can't predict these things scientifically- at least with the technology we have today.

And who ****ing cares if he's a top 50 prospect. That list doesn't take into account this season, anyway. He's at least top 50 consensus now, if I had to guess.

Acuna is not the best player in the history of baseball.

I would be skeptical if Grissom were saying Harris is going to hit 760 dingers or put up 10 WAR.

He's not.

A left-handed Acuna is a perfectly reasonable aspiration for a 4-tooler like Harris IF he starts hitting for power.

Ronald Acuna AA stats at 19: 243 PA, 9 HR, 19 SB, 7% BB, 23% K, .326, .396 BABIP, 159 wRC+

Michael Harris AA stats at 21: 96 PA, 4 HR, 9 SB, 8% BB, 18% K, .333, .385 BABIP, 161 wRC+

Let's see if the power sticks. Ridiculously lucky for the Braves if it does.

It's not a perfectly reasonable aspiration to think Harris is a left handed Acuna. It's not fair to the kid.

I don't think it is reasonable to label a prospect as a 'LHH elite player'... I don't think it is wrong to say, 'I think he is going to be a good player who has potential to become elite' But that was not the context of the discussion. It was about Harris coming up and being a 4-5 win player immediately this year. That is far fetched. Sure it could happen, but the odds are slim..

I do agree that him not being a top 50 means nothing these last few years. Guys missing a full season has these list just guessing at this point... it will take another couple of seasons to get things back to normal.
