Gun Violence

The GOP is on the losing end of almost every political issue and it gets worse every day. Each time there is a mass shooting, a weekly event these days, it paints them further and further into the corner.

That's why the Republican part has become so anti-democacy. Every issue is a loser for them accept attacking democracy itself, thus voter suppression and gas-lighting is all that's left.

From here they can only get more and more radical and absurd, which will only further isolate and divide them.

Not really.

This would be an abuse of power and I would vehemently disagree with it. I am all for some basic measures like closing loopholes, enforcing current gun laws and providing a framework for some more regulation like universal background checks, but it should not come via Executive Order. This is the equivalent to Trump signing an EO to build a wall.

I’m not an anti-gun guy, but a chart showing that over 2/3 of murders come from guns isn’t an incredible argument in favor of guns, particularly when Canada and Western European countries have such lower murder rates per capita.

I wonder why that is?

Yeah, that chart is as good as Rafael Cruz saying “after every shooting”

It's proof that the gnashing of teeth over high capacity mags and "assault rifles" is either dishonest or ignorant. The real goal is incremental castration of the Second Amendment.

My take is that Canada and Western Europe have lower murder rates due to less social unrest, superior lower income culture, and better economic policy.

Lower income culture is the key winner in this from my perspective. We have generationally taught a certain group of people they aren’t good enough on their own to succeed. That’s almost as big of mind **** as slavery itself.

It’s not intended to defend guns.

It’s to show the hypocrisy of how the left frames the discussion on the danger of certain type of guns and in certain types of settings while ignoring the real issue as the left often does.
