Sometimes a team clicks one year and not the next (Red Sox 2013 versus 2014). Sometimes a team produces nothing special for most of the season, then clicks late (Cardinals 2011). These things are mysterious and unpredictable. I agree that the current team has underperformed somewhat. But I don't think underperforming at this stage of the season tells us much about the second half or post-season.

Yes, this group has more individual talent than either of those teams, those teams had an excuse. This one doesn't have that excuse. If you don't have the talent that's one thing, if you waste it that's another.

Come from behind wins Friday and Sunday. The other two were lost in the 13th.
I don't know what you consider "meshing" .

Something people have forgotten , this team just got finished in Colorado - a grave yard for bullpens. Then to walk into two extra inning games and Minor only giving 5 --- this bullpen has been shakey anyway -- .

Curious -- does anyone here that has access to stats that predict how many times a random AAA player uses the bathroom in a week
know historically the winning percentage the following 10 games after a team leaves Coors Field???
 
We need a mutual forum for braves and nats fans who think their team sucks where they argue why the other team is so much better than their own team. The Fredi vs Matt Williams thread alone would be epic.

I really wonder how long people have been watching baseball. It's a long season with ups and downs. I don't understand constantly whining about your team, especially when they're towards the top of the standings. Teams struggle. Some overachieve, some underachieve. It's part of the ride. If you think the team has no hope, stop watching and go away. Do everyone a favor. No one cares that you think they stink, and no one cares that if you're wrong you'll "come and publicly admit so." You sound like a baby. Teams turn it on all the time. Teams rise and fall all the time. Again, I wonder how long they've followed baseball. You'd think we're in last place. Guess what? These two teams that some are so sure are going to overtake us have struggled just as much, if not more. But they're so much better, right? They have IT, and we don't. It's so clear.
 
I am not a Nats fan I just see this team for what it is. A very mediocre outfit. And no I will not leave I haven't attacked anybody.

You should've read the Cardinals message board last year after we took 2 of 3 from them. Their fans were whining just like you.
If you think the team is so mediocre and hopeless, why watch and discuss?
Baseball is a crazy sport, it's a crazy long season. Again, no one cares if you come back and "publicly" (on the internet) admit you were wrong.
 
A message board is a place to vent that's why I am here. You can't stand someone to say something bad about the team then don't read my posts. I remember the mid 80s when the teams were awful, that's what so maddening about this team. First place or not, the trend is downward for this team, it is way too talented to perform as it has. To be truthful I wished I didn't care so much but I do. To continue to see the bad two strike hits given up, BJ's hitting, not to mention his awful CF defense, the catching defense is terrible, etc. It is just frustrating to watch. And for the record, I don't care what you may think of whining fans. I'm not whining just speaking truth.
 
I'm just going to say it. A couple of posters on this site are deserving of jinx bans. And their names begin with J and n.

No with logic from people here only a month where you perform well means anything. So the Braves had one good month in April, but two sub par months following that. Therefore we can't make an educated and inform decision about the overall position of the Braves unless you claim they are great.
