Hillary in trouble?

Since it seems this is a Bernie thread

got this in the mail from him recently:

I like Bernie for a few reasons:

1. I generally agree with his foreign policy

2. I think he would try to end corporate welfare

3. He is a threat to the establishment and the political system

But his economic policy are so awful it trumps everything about him

(from the scandal porn above that has Bedell's heart racing)

"People found to have willfully mishandled such highly classified information often face severe punishment. Termination of employment, hefty fines, even imprisonment can result."

Unless they are very powerful govt high-ups and then nothing happens, like when Vice President Cheney outed CIA agent Plame because they were on to his lies to take the country to war. How does 'Emailgate' compare to that little abuse of power?

We'll have to wait and see what's on that server. My guess is she paid a professional to delete to the point that her "personal" emails can't be recovered.

I'm not so sure. We had a guy from the U of A system come down last year and gave a big speech/presentation about the fact that once you put something "out there" it's always out there somewhere, even if you delete it and delete the deletions, but as you said if Hillary did do what we all figure she did and hired a real pro to "make them disappear" who knows. If anyone could figure out how to make this happen it would probably be the Clintons, or maybe Dick Cheney.

OK humor me here, but other than making the wealthy and big corporations actually pay the taxes (and stop hiding the HUGE incomes they "misplace") what are so awful about Bernie's economics? Personally I don't know all that much about him, other than he ain't Hillary, which I think most of us could agree is a good place to start. And don't hit me, but from what I've seen so far he seems like a bit of a left wing Ron Paul.

So, enlighten me.

he's just going to point to the fact that "rich people pay all the taxes" while ignoring that they take a larger percentage of the money available than they pay in taxes. wealth inequality is not a problem and you should be able to make as much money as possible even if it hurts a large, large majority of the country, because capitalism.

Well, he basically wants the government to pay for everything - and he wants to do that by raising taxes. He believes in some of the harshest government regulation I've ever seen. He is a socialist. Literally - a socialist. We're 19T in debt and he wants to slam on the gas.

You want rid of the tax loophole? Why don't you look at Ran Paul's proposal?

This was a pretty funny correction from the LA Times...

I wonder how much she has whined about income inequality.

Clintons released their tax returns a few weeks ago. They were paying an effective rate at 36% which I believe was more than Romney.

They probably do have some money funneled through some other means, as nearly every politician with a cent to their name.

Do I sense some frustration Runnin? I seriously doubt anything will happen to Hilary. I mean come on - she's a Clinton. They get away with just a tad bit of stuff. But one can still hope can't they? I'm sure Petraeus is probably hoping so.

Oh, and I'm fine with her being compared to Cheney. That works.

Pretty much this. He thinks consumer choice created by capitalism is basically at odds with what he believes are the responsibilities of society to take care of its people. See his comment questioning why we need 20 kinds of deodorant when kids are starving, as if one has anything to do with the other. Every time he opens his mouth on economics, he reveals more of his warped worldview (IMO).

The amounts these politicos get for speeches is galling. Sinful. And then they rail on the equally ungodly amounts that major CEOs make and let's throw in a measure of hypocrisy. They are all - and let's include the major Hollywood idiots - they are all money-grubbers.

How much of their charitable giving was to the Clinton foundation?

They get a tax break for giving to their own organization which in turn pays for their worldwide travel.

And the thing is - CEOs are paying people salaries. They are producing wealth for the economy. Hilary is just taking so people can hear her speak.

I like Marco Rubio's line in the debate:

"How can she lecture me about living paycheck to paycheck? I grew up paycheck to paycheck. How can she lecture me about student loans? I had $100K in loans just last year"

Socialism is for the people, not the socialists.
