Still sticking with my forecast that Wikileaks will be death by a thousand cuts for Hillary. This stuff is being strategically leaked and is incredibly damaging ... I can't help but wonder if there isn't enough information there to actually see her be forced out of office after election if she does win. I don't think she will (win) though.

At this point, might as well go down with my predictory guns ablaze ... AMIRITE?

I agree that there's a whiff of Nixon in all of this except that all of the stuff that is coming out is coming out while she is running and not in office. I don't know if that makes any difference. Nixon had made enemies for 20+ years before the 1972 election and the political world was a lot different then. Nixon was right on Alger Hiss, but it was his style and disregard for collateral damage and ensuing mistakes and lack of transparency that did him in. One could argue that Hillary has the same problem minus the collateral damage part. The Clintons are nothing if not extremely careful--almost surgical--in their political calculations.

I think she wins, but I think it will be close. The problem is her Presidency (as would be Trump's) will lack legitimacy from the beginning. Nixon was impeached two years after a landslide. I doubt this will be a landslide and in the 24/7 news cycle, something will be found daily in a Clinton administration that will rankle someone, especially on Trump TV.

As for Schilling. He's a total wack job. But I would like to see him become President if only for seeing him explain that the empty chair on the podium for his swearing-in ceremony is for his deceased father.

Curious as to what the unrelated case is. This election battle is going to continue to be fought well into Clinton's term if she wins.

You know this FBI letter is a big deal when the likes of Favreau, Yglesias, etc. are flipping out about it and that the stock market dropped significantly in the wakes.

I would be curious to see how this affects the polls.

Sigh. If they just let Bernie win instead of colluding against him we wpldny have this issue. And Bernie would be so far up in the polls against Donald.

I'd imagine the GOP is saying something similar. Had the field been narrowed more rapidly and had the non-Trump supporters rallied around a different candidate, the Reps would probably be looking at a W. As it stands, the investigation could end with her being arrested before the election and my money would still be on her to win.

The only way it can actually re-shape the race is if it persuades enough independents to vote for Trump in the swing states. Or if it just inspires every single hardcore Republican to go to the polls and vote for Trump.

That's if anything actually comes from this in the next few days, which is highly doubtful, at least before Nov. 8.

if Comey would had found Clinton guilty he would had handed Trump the election. No doubt about it. That's why he didn't charge her the first time. Who'd want that decision on them for the rest of thier lives?
