I need to vent on this Duck Dynasty "Controversy".

I realize I'm not a minister (and most people are pretty happy about that) but my take on that word would require you to specify, are we talking about judging an action or judging the person doing said action? It is my understanding and belief that we have not only the right but the responsibility to judge actions (though admittedly we don't always have broadcast every time we do) but we do not have the right to judge the person doing the action.

Now Bedell or anyone else more enlightened than I can set me straight on this.

I think so Hawk - and with both the Pope and Duck Commander, they are alluding to final judgment as well.

Always got to blame it on "whitey" don't you??? :happy0157:

Now honestly if AA wasn't a good guy, or if he was like GLAAD, would I still be alive by the time you guys read this???

Well SAV pissed me off and then I pissed him off when I called him out. I wasn't going to post at all until I saw the rest of his link, it incensed me as I put 2 + 2 together. But I told him, maybe he didn't know it was sensitive to people like me about firing people who deserve to be fired, especially in church and for anti - g ay messages. I don't care about that per se since my favorite cousin is *** and getting married soon and he asked for me to be the best man. I refused but he understood my stance. I do not believe that g ay marriage and church should be intertwined. If it was government sponsored, I would be there with the students in a sit in.

Hey Z, Mead is next. I got all the stuff. I want a batch for my childrens birthday party (usually have around 60+ people over to my house) in August, the place where I get my gear said six months is the minimum you want for some good mead. Kind of excited about doing it.

Yeah 6 months seems about right. Longer is even better.

Next summer I'm going to make a blueberry mead, and blueberry wine. I'm really excited to get them started.

My goal is a christmas 2015 ready for those meads. Also hoping to get some Apfelwein going at somepoint.

Well Nixon did, ON TAPE, Carter didn't but I wish he would have (it would have helped some), Reagan did but couldn't remember, Bush 41 did about the REAL reason we suckered Saddam into invading Kuwait, Clinton did, but most of it was about babes (or those women he hooked up, you decide), W didn't really because he had president Cheney doing it for him, and the problem is Obama doesn't have anyone intelligent enough to do it for him, he like Dark Helmet in Spaceballs is "surrounded by assholes" so to speak.

Honestly, the only human I actually hate in the world and it is hard for me to hate anyone, but he is one I hate for what he did to my family.

Dude, I was thinking the same thing. I have bout 20 pounds of blueberries that I need to do something with. I was thinking wine or liquor. We had a great blueberry harvest last year, pick your own for 1.29 a pound. Their crop was so big, it was extended till October and they still had berries. Even my kids help in picking, pail after pail. I have eaten so many blueberries my stomach is getting tired of them.

And it's hard for me to completely comprehend, and even harder to explain that God takes sex very seriously, unlike we humans who so often jump in and out of bed with the same extreme commitment with which we decide which shirt we're wearing today, they just can't understand why I have the right to tell someone else who to bang (or who not to bang). The answer is very simple my friends, I DON'T have that right, but that doesn't mean God doesn't. I've long said that I don't understand why so many Christians make such a big deal out of non-hetero-sexual intercourse, and ignore so many other sins. I think our lack of speaking out on some sins and concentrating on certain other ones has pretty much watered down (to say the least) our credibility on the subject. Maybe we have it coming in some ways.

You're right, hating him isn't the answer but I'm not going to pretend he did what he did for anything resembling a noble intent. I expect my quail hunting invite to arrive any day now.

OK so what does mead taste like? Anything similar to stuff I've had before?

I have a fight going on with another board about Dook Dynasty and what he said. I got a lot of people backing me and they are hammering AE with their stance. Dude will be a martyr after all said and done and much richer.

in saying that, Utah/NM same sex marriage. I really don't care about that as long as it is not in church, but they got mad at me for bringing up polygamy and constitutional right to marriage, which they preface. I just ask if g a y marriage is allowed why not polygamy? You can't pick and choose your laws and how you administering them.

Oh boy did that start a furball.

If you allow one you should allow all, period. God will judge those who sin. That was my remark and they hated that as well.

I know people here don't like it, but don't think about terms regarding divorce and lawyers, which I agree with, but think about the constitutional rights.

sweet honey wine. Not as thick.

It was defacto drink of Europe in the old days. When I visit my daughter they have medieval days, open pits of smoked wild boar and they serve mead like the old days. I really enjoy those festivities. The wife and my ex wife have a lot of fun during these times.

Thank the lord they are like sisters, I see drama in other husbands and their ex wives.

20 pounds! That's almost perfect for a 5 gallon wine.

Also I can't get tired of blueberries. I love them so much. Second favorite fruit after strawberries. But probably the best for making booze from.

I went to a tasting of meads today, this guy had a maple mead (he said about 60/40 maple ot honey) that was I kid you not like drinking a sweet drink. It was about 14% abv and tasted like 0%, something like that could get me in serious trouble. He also had a really interesting one that was blueberry, maple, honey and it was also hopped with WIlhemette hops. Really interesting.

True, my parents brings it up a lot.

I was looking at pictures from the 1920's and 30's of my family and asked dad when they integrated how tough it was. He said they threw rocks at them until they decided to retaliate.

I was like, dayuum, rocks. Then he made me laugh so much that it felt good. He said this to me.

"D, remember we all played semi-pro baseball (I think some have access to my photos on Facebook to back this up) and we can throw harder and further. After sending a couple of kids to the hospital, they stopped throwing rocks."

It still makes me feel good hearing him say that.

Honestly I don't understand why more people aren't pissed about Robertson's racial statements than about the non-hetero statements. I mean did he really say all that much about them, just that it was sin (I've seen the statements I just didn't commit them to memory)? I know the racial statements seemed a LOT more inflammatory than the sexually based ones.

Like AA said it's a lot like honey wine. Mead when done right is a great balancing act. Some meads are simple, some are complex. Mead is comparable to wine, it's all about your starting product and the quality of your honey. Bad honey bad mead, great honey great mead. But most meads aren't just honey they have other additives and the ability to elevate the mead.

I cant use it all on alcohol. My kids like them and eat them everyday with a Kiwi, orange/cuties/tangerines and strawberry.

Because what he said is a non issue. My parents would back him up actually. They are Democrats but not liberal, that still baffles me, well most blacks are. So what he said about homosexuals is what they are tuned to, not the stab he said about blacks. Personally, it didn't faze me nor my parents on what he said.

Do they taste at all like wine or is that just how they're prepared?? I know mead used to be very popular in England, among other European countries, I've just never had any.
