I thought unborn baby's were an 'it'

Whoa there Nelly, that is a slippery slope is it not? Who deems it as necessary? I can understand incest and rape, but what about the ones, the "it" is an inconvenience or an oops?

I still like the notion of sewing the snatch up or dick not able to produce baby making sperm until they are wise enough to take care of the oops or inconveniences.

I imagine the abortion exempt also protects the doctors during live vaginal births that go bad. Sometimes they can save one and not the other.

I'm not a big proponent of abortion but it's not fair for you or I to expect 'other people' to go through with births if the child has serious developmental issues. The parents lives are over once they go with giving birth to a handicap newborn.

Now that makes sense, to protect the doctor from being sued in both instances.

ahh the thing is though, intent, motive and results. It may have happened somewhere, but if you shot a woman who lived and she had a miscarriage I don't think you can be charged with murder. Killing the mother and the child by proxy is double murder because of the intent to kill and the motive behind the deaths (criminal actions) abortion is legal because in a free country religious nonsense has no bearing on the legality of thing. We have a wall of separation between church and state and the choice to birth a kid is the mother's and hers alone. (tho I have presented the argument that unmarried men should not be burdened with child support due to their lack of voice in the matter.)

Basically, if your religious beliefs bar you from having abortions, then don't have them, other people's choices are none of your business. Tyranny of religion stops at you and your home and church, it does not cross over into the lives of other people who may or may not carry the same belief system. Your don't get to rule their choices.

Yes. That's clearly what I meant. Legally speaking, it's the same principle behind why one is legal and the other is not. That's what this discussion is about. Or is it really not about that and just an excuse to make the same old tired arguments about abortion?
