I think the Trout comparison is completely different. That guy is a great hitter as well.
Heyward has not shown he can be that great hitter on a consistent basis.
Then you have the Giants winning two world series in recent years without a big bopper. Different mix. Some great pitching. A great player in Posey. But no big bopper.

It is the Miguel Cabrera vs Mike Trout argument. So far the dinosaurs err traditionalists seem to be carrying the day when it comes to MVP voting.
Miggy's team has taken his team to 3 straight ALCS appearances and 1 WS appearance in the last 3 yrs. While Trout's team's have missed the playoffs for 3 straight yrs. May be there is a method to our madness.
Freeman by far. then Simmons. Heyward durability issues
Is it really fair to say that he has durability issues? An appendectomy and getting your jaw broke by a pitch aren't exactly the same as a bruised thumb/tweaked groin (both of which he suffered from in 2011.) Nevertheless, I'm curious as to whether or not that's a prevailing opinion about Jason.
I would give Heyward and Freeman 10 year pacts tomorrow.
