Impeachment

2 solid weeks of testimony showing that Trump/Giuliani bribed Ukraine and public opinion for Impeachment has actually gone down. Is that on Schiff?

It's due to obstruction of justice. We are being denied the most important witnesses. Even without them the evidence has been overwhelming.

NO it's because of Russian disinformation. People like thethe don't get news from any reputable source. They get it from sources tied to the Kremlin. Russia has one goal, to make America look bad. By having Trump be so clearly guilty and get re-elected, they succeeded. Putin has attempted to wage wars on the west in more conventional methods and failed. All he was able to gain is some resource annexation. But in this new form he's managed to use populist tactics to push forward Trump and the alt-right to give America a black eye and Boris Johnson and Brexit for the UK.

Also of note we can assume those blocked from testifying would confirm the crimes. No very stable geniuses block witnesses that would be good for their defense.

Trump emoluments by the numbers:

57 foreign countries paying to stay at Trump properties
13 State meetings with countries where Trump Inc. owns property
300+ taxpayer-funded trips to Trump resorts
0 divestment
0 tax returns

I imagine that at a Senate trial there would be a good chance Mulvaney and Bolton would be called to testify. Maybe Giuliani too. And Hunter Biden. Could be wild.

Although he was still dumb to cozy up to a manic, Sondland proved himself to be slick enough to squirm out of trouble at the last moment and do it with a big sh't-eatin' grin on his face.

The richest thing to me about Sondland’s testimony was when he repeatedly insisted that he didn’t understand “Burisma” to mean “Biden,” whereas I think everyone who was asked made the connection immediately.

Based on private conversations, I believe there will be some Republican
votes to impeach. But whatever the partisan split, members of Congress
take an oath to the Constitution, not to bipartisanship nor to abdicating
judgment if the other party refuses to care about the evidence.

we'll see. Kristol for all of his faults is a reliable conduit to non-Trump (R)
Ya know, Justin Amash coulda been a here next week

It is irrelevant whether Sondland understood that. To chosen one and Rudy Burisma and Biden were one and the same.

A confidential White House review of President Trump’s decision to place a hold on military aid to Ukraine has turned up hundreds of documents that reveal extensive efforts to generate an after-the-fact justification for the decision and a debate over whether the delay was legal, according to three people familiar with the records.

The research by the White House Counsel’s Office, which was triggered by a congressional impeachment inquiry announced in September, includes early August email exchanges between acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney and White House budget officials seeking to provide an explanation for withholding the funds after President Trump had already ordered a hold in mid-July on the nearly $400 million in security assistance, according to the three people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal White House deliberations.

One person briefed on the records examination said White House lawyers are expressing concern that the review has turned up some unflattering exchanges and facts that could at a minimum embarrass the president. It’s unclear if the Mulvaney discussions or other records pose any legal problems for Trump in the impeachment inquiry, but some fear they could pose political problems if revealed publicly.

The framing of this story strikes me as odd. Why are WH sources leaking this? Is Mulvaney about to be defenestrated?
