Indians Are Considering Changing Their Name

I wonder how soon until we hear the Braves are changing their name?

What do we think our new name will be? It’ll likely follow that of the Hawks, Falcons and Thrashers. So maybe a bird name is next?

Ugh. I hope we don’t change our name.

At this point only a matter of time.
Atlanta Bloopers?
Atlanta Freeze?
At least they wouldn’t have to change mascots...going to be awful no matter what it’s changed to.

This garbage has to stop. Those types will always find something to be offended by, and they're more snot nosed SJWs getting people riled up than actual Indians. If something like that would put an end to it sure, but in this climate they'll just onto the move next thing and be more emboldened thinking they've accomplished something. If they make a big deal about it, I hope we put Chief Nocahoma's teepee behind the outfield bleachers. When I was a little kid I thought that was cool at Fulton County Stadium.

The Hustlers. It’s an ode to one of the franchise’s previous names in the Rustlers, and also a reminder to all minority players of the importance of running to first base.

I really hate it has come to this but I am resigned to it happening. Braves nor Indians is offensive in any way.

Read yesterday the Indians changed their name back when to honor the first Native American to be MLB
they had been the Naps
Correct me if that is wrong

The names/words themselves are harmless. The logos attached ---- not so much

The Braves isn’t a racist name though.

I can totally understand changing the Redskins. Can you imagine a team named the blackskins ???

The Braves is not derogatory in the least to me. It’s actually very positive. The Indians is borderline (although I don’t see it). I can see how a few might see that in the wrong light. I see as positive, because you would only name your mascot as something you admire or look up to. You would not name your mascot after something you hated or wanted to make fun of in the least.

Not sure about the Indians, but on logos, I have never understood why the Redskins didn't dump the face and adopt the R and spear full time.

I mean "Indians" may not be racist per se, but it's historically inaccurate. We stupidly thought we landed in India and society has been calling them the wrong name for 500 years.

I’ve been saying it years. Why is Columbus Day still a thing? Dude was a **** up beyond belief. He was also, by all accounts, a POS.
