Injury statuses?

So the update is Smyly is scheduled to start on Saturday. Acuña could be back on Friday. Pache is cleared to resume baseball activities and is working out at the alternate site. And finally Soroka’s return is so far away it’s not worth discussing right now.

Thanks.

Nothing on fried?

And the Braves are interested in a reunion with Anibal Sanchez to help from right side relievers.

Chris Martin has begun a throwing program and could return by the end of this home stand

Is it confirmed that we have interest in him?

People forget that he was Vice President of possibly the greatest Council of Elders we’ve ever assembled.

Smyly officially activated and Kazmar Jr. sent down... also Pache has been activated but sent down to the alternate training site.

Swanson could've used a day off (or we could've used a day off from Swanson), and I would've loved for Kazmar to have gotten a start. Too bad.

Adrianza would be Swanson's fill in though, right?

Probably not until we have another active OF on the roster - without him we don't really have a defensive replacement for Ozuna unless you're going to move Riley to LF and replace him with Panda unless you're interested in playing Camargo.

I wonder if they don't make TWO moves when Ender is activated. Gives you 5 guys that can be utilized as OFs - Ender and Heredia platooning in CF with Adrianza available as the defensive replacement for Ozuna, with Camargo sent down and Arcia added as the backup SS. Bench then becomes A-Jax (R), Panda (S), Adrianza (S), Arcia (R), Heredia/Ender (R/L). Much better defensively AND offensively IMO.

That way Pache can stay down for a while and get plenty of ABs while working on things without having to produce. I'd even have him leading off when games start in Gwinnett to see if he'd be able to adjust to hitting at the top so you could eventually move Acuna down a spot or two to see how that worked.

Mike Soroka (shoulder) is not expected to join the Braves' rotation before June.
Jon Morosi of MLB.com reported this information on MLB Network on Tuesday morning, but it's pretty much common sense after David O'Brien of The Athletic reported Monday that Soroka hasn't resumed throwing. Soroka was working his way back from a torn Achilles before coming down with shoulder soreness, but an MRI has ruled out structural damage. He just needs to build back up and essentially go through a full "spring training" before joining the Braves. It's going to be a while.
