Introductions Are In Order II

I'm Frost, and I'm from Taiwan. I'm 36 years old and will be 37 next month. I started to follow our Braves at around 2000 or 2001, and according to Scount.com, I joined the site at 4/6/2004. I do remember I started to follow the discussion board before it became Scout.com though. I hardly talked to anyone here so I guess most of you did not know me at all, but I do follow this board daily and enjoy the discussion here a lot!

I'm Zach. I joined in 2002 at scout. I had a previous account at fanhome, I believe. I remember being excited about all the discussion surrounding Sheffield being traded to Atlanta in the 2001 offseason. I was 13 when I started in this community, I'll be 28 next month. The discussions of "advanced metrics" fascinated me. It took my love of baseball and allowed it to grow in entirely new ways. In 2001/2002 I remember learning about OPS/OPS+ and ERA+. The idea that I could better compare Maddux to previous generations blew my mind. I loved the Braves as a kid, but Scout/Fanhome turned me into a fanatic.

I posted until about March 2010. At that point I had to take about a year break from the Internet and society as a whole. When I came back scout had started to deteriorate quite a bit and it took me a few months to notice pms from SAV and others inviting me here. I still post on Scout some, but the conversations here are much better.

Even though my moniker is Oklahomabrave, I actually moved to Lousiana in April 2010. So I've actually posted so long my username is 6 years outdated.

I'm an addiction counselor at a treatment facility called St. Christopher's Addiction Wellness center, in Baton Rouge.(no religious affiliation)

Yeah definitely, sounds cool! If you're ever on the island just drop me a line and we'll arrange something something.

I challenge that.

You have been here since the beginning of this board. But you weren't there at the beginning of SAV's board. Heck you probably don't even remember the time when Vuchato was just posting by himself.

Really sad, I wanna find that guy again.

This is definitely true for the Dutch that don't live in Holland portion of the Netherlands, which is to say North and South Holland which are regions within the Netherlands.

I found in my time in Leiden (which is in "Holland") they played up the Holland name a lot. To the point where they would say they spoke Hollands instead of Dutch.

Dutch people, in general, are fiercely defensive about their culture/language because most immigrants can't and frankly don't need to learn Dutch to get by.

I would like to visit the Netherlands one day, specifically the town (Nieuwkoop) where my 19 generations ago maternal grandfather came from before he hopped on the boat for Nieuw Amsterdam.

Glad to see this thread. Some of you may remember my posts from the early 2000s with my interviews with Dayton Moore on the old sports-boards forums (you can still google it, surprisingly).

I'm 37 years old and a partner at an international law firm practicing cross border M&A and project finance. I have been a baseball fan as far back as I can remember (walk?) and have always been a Braves fan. My work has taken me to places outside of Atlanta - including now - but I remain steadfast in my loyalty to the team regardless of whether I agree with their current direction (I will note that the Miller trade has changed my view on our ability to compete in the somewhat near future).

I mostly lurk these days but I do enjoy reading threads and keep up with the team's moves real time.
