Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

why is Kushner trying to censor and silence very poorly chosen one

this is unacceptable

Double standards? Nah.

There’s some pretty vital context that would help clarify why it’s not acceptable for him to say that word despite it being okay for others to do so. I’d be happy to provide some reading material if you wish, but it’s a bit of a bummer.

I don’t buy into double standards. Never have never will. If something is wrong it doesn’t matter who says it, it’s wrong.

That’s an interesting way to go through life. Context has to matter when judging how appropriate it is to say or do something. You’re obviously welcome to your own opinion, but it’s just weird to be purposefully ignorant of the two situations and how they differ.

‘Context’ doesn’t matter if the judging parties don’t have an open mind. There are plenty of posters on here who think a white person should never use the N word in any context and they’ll never condemn a black person for using that same word, even if it was used in a harsher and racial way

If your point is that some go off the rails at times, then sure. I’ve seen complaints be made when having a white person use it in the context of relaying a story or discussing history, and think that’s over the top. As with pretty much all things, there’s a spectrum of how acceptable something is. What this dude did is not all the way to an extreme like using it harassingly at a person of color, but it’s pretty definitely on the wrong side of the line. There’s simply no good reason for a white person to be yelling out that word the way that he did. I’m not saying he’s inherently racist because of this, but he really should be practicing better judgement, particularly as a public figure.

the whiny right constantly complaining about "cancel culture" has become one of the most pathetic things i can think of. it's no coincidence that it's been amplified since our whiniest, most pathetic president in history was elected in 2016. you are all that guy, just endlessly yell-complaining about how unfair everything is for you.

people are allowed to stop listening to or buying things from a person for any reason they want.
i *thought* the whiny right felt that companies could stop associating with anyone they want for any reason they want. we typically see this happen because the company realizes it could start messing with their money. the whiny right will whine about "online mobs," but why are those even mildly effective in the first place? money. should a company have to keep paying someone who could trigger a large portion of the company's customer base to stop buying from/supporting them?

pretending that you're being persecuted is an effective way to garner support from the whiny right-wing nutsos, so people like trump rely on it heavily.

It's how everyone gets attention in our society. For some reason our society is obsessed with victimhood. If you've never been a victim you're the product of privilege and have no value.

trump been doing this exact thing since basically forever. he's easily had the toughest, most unfair life i've ever seen.

the Mavs/left wing antifas are cancelling and censoring the national anthem now. unbelievable. what are their fans supposed to listen to while waiting in line for a beer before the game starts?

Even better was that it took 13 games for anyone to notice

So stupid that it’s done before 99% of game
