Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

As it stands now Democrats have the majority in the House. Their Senators represent 40+ million Americans than the equivalent 50 Senators of Republicans and they just won the White House in a landslide. Only voter fraud can change that.

You can still use plain old Twitter for free.

How are people struggling with this ?

Literally no one is struggling with this

The $8 to be able to get your voice heard and prioritize those people though those who have paid vs those that haven’t seems to have been struggled with you though

But your next reply after this shows your stance is “own the libs” instead of any actual real discourse on the topic

insane how this echo chamber around here has become though lol

Boy I'm half tempted to make some fake Twitter checkmark accounts. I could probably get 8 dollars of enjoyment by making a fake account for MTG.

Meh, it’s not any worse than the current system of being verified due to how famous Twitter deems you. I have no problems with people not being verified on Twitter unless they pay from a speech and fairness standpoint.

My concerns (that might be a strong word) at this point come from what the verification process looks like. Can you just pretend to be someone else for $8 a month or will there be some sort of strict identification process? If it’s the former, Twitter became a minefield where any scammer can pretend to be say, Mr. Beast or someone like that and promise to give you millions if you buy their crypto or some ****. If it’s the latter, I couldn’t give less of a ****.

It’s literally started verifying people cause of a lawsuit after a parody account was posting as if they were the real person

Thus the handles of “realdonaldtrump” etc

It wasn’t because of “how famous twitter seems you”

If you acted like you understood it I wouldn’t have posted that. Try to keep up

Let’s all just relax and see how the guy smarter than everyone here shakes it out

I mean, I’m pretty relaxed. Literally the worst case scenario is one of the websites I browse from time to time goes to ****. In reality, I think Twitter remains basically the same.

That’s how it started and was a good idea. But now it’s just a status symbol.

Elon isn't that smart. I'm not saying he's dumb. He's certainly in the top 5%. But he was a meh coder in the 90s who benefitted from the DotCom boom.

The best thing Musk did was merge with Confinity, company started by Thiel, Levchin, and Nosek. Which you know as Paypal. Musk's x.com was a much lesser product in the end, just had more money up front.

People act like he's Bill Gates when he's really closer to Steve Jobs.

Not smart guy isn’t smart except these really smart things he did… oh and his closest comp is probably the most brilliant business mind of the last 100 years.

it would be dirigiste

a policy approach that seems to be catching on with my friends on the right...especially the ones that pretend to be libertarians

di·ri·giste
[ˌdiriˈZHēst]
ADJECTIVE
characterized by state control of economic and social policy:
"a heavily dirigiste economic program"
