Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

There’s definitely a difference between ‘woke’ and enlightened, but I will say that line isn’t always clearly drawn by some bad actors in the ‘anti-woke’ group.

In my experience, the truly enlightened and empathetic don’t go around telling others how enlighten and empathetic they are.

Personally I find it hard to start a nuanced discussion about the topic when the other side is essentially declaring that the Constitution has been violated unilaterally by Democrats. I think there’s a broader conversation to be had about things like the cozy relationship between Twitter and the government, who had what access/power, what the conversations looked like, who all was participating, etc. But from where I’m sitting, everybody has just made up their minds that not only is this ethically concerning but that it must be the worst-possible doomsday scenario.

Personally it doesn’t look like anyone wants to discuss it at all calling it “nothing” and “ironic”.

Looking the other direction from one’s values is more convenient and most are ignoring it completely

Theres only one question. Is it criminally illegal. And even then if the answer is yes some people attack the law instead of the person who broke the law. The former second place finisher has been convicted in civil court for fraud and his company has just been found guilty of fraud. Thats not a big deal but holy **** a person not even in Government asked twatter to take down accounts posting pictures of his sons penis..... THAT is somehow a bigger story to some of you. You are the ****ers who lowered the bar to where its at for your lord and savior. Now deal with it.

" The former second place finisher has been convicted in civil court for fraud and his company has just been found guilty of fraud. Thats not a big deal but ..."

I disagree. It is a big deal or at least it was before 2015.

Now the new normal is fraud ?

Knowing we frown on slippery slope arguments but, we are half way down that hill when a candidate
is convicted of instructing his employees to commit crimes and it is considered " not a big deal"

Pre 2015 even a whiff of this was a deal breaker

Theres so many things that would have killed a candidacy that are now just run of the mill things. Heck, just look at Hillarys emails vs Trumps stolen classified documents. Look at the reaction to one vs the other and thats only a 5-6 year difference.

My favorite part about this is 57 is too stupid to learn how to.embed tweets on here

sounds like a plan...i once suggested the idea (partly in jest) of different colors and fonts for different categories of posters...the Scarlet A approach

Btw I don't have a view as to what twitter should do when people post lies and disinformation. That's their business as a profit-making enterprise.

I've suggested for ****s and giggles what I call the Scarlet A approach.

If they think something is a lie then make the font for that tweet red. A sort of public shaming.

For years everyone told thethe he was nuts for saying they suppressed certain viewpoints.

He was right and you were wrong.

Okay… I’m not understanding this revisionist history stuff. Claiming left wing bias in tech isn’t exactly a hot take.

It is a hot take for people who are latecomers to the facts.

One of the interesting things with people who occupy certain niches within the information ecosystem is the outrage over things the rest of us have known about for years. For a while I thought it was ginned up outrage but a fair amount of it is real. Belatedly so but real.

This guy is so great.

Fall for every fake narratives that is ever presented and then claim to be the enlightened one ahead of time

Member of Congress fantasizing about killing her colleagues:

“I want to tell you something, if Steve Bannon and I had

organized [the insurrection], we would have won.

Not to mention, we would’ve been armed.”

so the answer to your question agree with her or not
no

The majority is always going to be biased against the minority. Its a fact of life. Conservatives used to be the majority and this is all just them throwing one big hissy fit about **** they did to others when they were the majority being done to them.

Just outright admitting it was an insurrection attempt.
