his weak excuse of "not knowing what's going on" with a real instance free speech under attack by a president with a private army being directed by a non senate confirmed head of a department to snatch american citizens up he doesn't like speaks volumes how how big of a fraud he is

if only it was a twitter account getting a warning message telling people something was a lie. he would then be outrage i guess

What Donald Trump is doing in Portland is a trial balloon

(or, in psychological terms, “testing limits”).

He may believe Oregon is far enough away to experiment with

how much can he get away with, at the same time as

punishing protestors in a “blue” state.

This is a prelude.
 
It's funny. I start a thread about free speech being attacked in this country and get endlessly mocked for it... Then am asked where I am when free speech is being attacked.

Sturg doesn't think federal agents should be arresting people in Portland. But sturg doesn't think federal buildings should be in Portland to begin with. Rioters are destroying the federal buildings... Local police won't address it... Federal agents are.

Sturg believes in property rights, you know. Violence is not a first amendment right.

“Usually when we see people in unmarked cars forcibly grab someone off the street, we call it kidnapping,” Carson said.

“I am proud to be among the loud chorus of elected officials calling for the federal troops in Portland’s streets to go home,” Portland City Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty said in a statement shared with The Post on Sunday. “Their presence here has escalated tensions and put countless Portlanders exercising their First Amendment rights in greater danger.”

Pettibone says he was simply exercising his free speech rights on Wednesday when he was detained. He and a friend were walking to a car to drive home after a relatively calm demonstration in a nearby park. He said he did not do anything to instigate police that night, or at any of the other protests he had attended over the past six weeks.

“I have a pretty strong philosophical conviction that I will not engage in any violent activity,” he told The Post. “I keep it mellow and try to document police brutality and try to show up for solidarity.”

“We’ve done a great job in Portland,” Trump said at a news conference on Monday. “Portland was totally out of control, and they went in, and I guess we have many people right now in jail. We very much quelled it, and if it starts again, we’ll quell it again very easily. It’s not hard to do, if you know what you’re doing.”

Pretty clear what is going on. DHS is being used in a provocative manner. very poorly chosen one trying to provoke a pretext to further militarize the situation. What a sad excuse of a human being. A decent person would be looking for ways to de-escalate. The disturbed child we have in the White House wants to escalate.

I think your constant insistence that all protesting has been peaceful is laughable.

But you ain't gonna believe this... The government is incapable of doing things well... And sadly, innocent people pay the price when they are in charge.

That's why sturg insists on cutting government power... Not expanding it like you do

Everytime there has been force you claim authoritarianism against peaceful protesters.

In reality... Force rarely gets used except in extreme violent situations.

But I notice the left takes victory on either side... Cities burning down? Trump's America has failed. Violent protesters being dealt with? Trump is an authoritarian fascist.
