is it too early to speculate how the potential Gwinnett roster might look in April?

This thread actually makes me want to buy some Gwinnett tickets this year.

AAA is ALWAYS an excellent value. You're usually always going to see some legitimate prospects and a few well-known former major leaguers. Best part is that tickets and concessions aren't major league pricing!

Oh, absolutely! I always catch 4 or 5 a year. I may hit more than that this year. It's a great experience and well worth the OP epic journey.

I have never seen a pitcher who actually pitches well get as much hate as Freddy Garcia. There are legitimate reasons to dislike Garcia like the fact that King Felix turned down a bigger offer from the Braves because the Mariners had Garcia who Hernandez looked up to.

I don't get it either. He would be a temporary fifth starter. I think he could do the job until Wood is ready to go or Floyd is healthy.

I don't hate Garcia. I just think we have seven better alternative starting pitchers: Medlen, Minor, Beachy, Teheran, Wood, Floyd, Hale.

If there is a concern with holding down Wood's innings, we can put him in the pen when Floyd is ready.

It wouldn't be the end of the world for Garcia to get a couple starts. But why do it if better alternatives exist?

I think they want a veteran starter in the rotation personally. Not sure if that makes a difference or not but that is probably the reason. I also believe that his performance in the playoffs last year still resonates with the team.

You have low standards for Well

Since 2006 he has a 4.54 ERA good for a 98 ERA+ All that is basically helped by his 2011.

I am talking about when he pitched for the Braves. Garcia isnt the first veteran has been the braves managed to squeeze a little bit of juice out of and he wont be the last. I am just saying if you want to bitch about Garcia then do it when he pitches badly. If you want to say "I told you so" every time he gives up a run thats fine. But atleast give him a smidgeon of a chance. He has been nothing short of fantastic and gets nothing but **** on.
