I reserved a cabin in Bryson city early April. I prepaid to reserve it and I have the receipt and all. Well after driving three plus hours and change I get up there and they tell me that the cabin isn’t ready for this summer yet so I’ll have to pay more to get a nicer cabin. They should had known two months ago it wouldn’t be ready and shouldn’t had rented it or they could had looked at their schedule and notify me within the past two months I’d have to make other plans.

Whether intentional or not, don’t I have a legit bitch here?

state laws vary but I believe they are required to provide an equal or better cabin. my gut says there is something in fine print somewhere on something you signed. You could probably take them to small claims court and win easily if there is not.

What steps have you taken so far? I’d complain like hell until the other cabin was discounted to the agreed upon rate.

I agree with you guys, I'd give them about a minute to make it right, then I'd be calling the BBB, the local newspapers and anybody else who would listen. I don't know if it's bait and switch per se, but it ain't right, that's for sure.
