Simmons can't hit fo s*it. He was a player I loved but that trade is far from the reason why we're not going to contend this year. Every move we've made over the last two years is why

Agreed. Save for the part about him not being able to hit. I think he can be a .260ish hitter with an improved OBP. Thought at times he was making strides about being a little more disciplined at the dish. His issue was and probably will always be consistency.

The Simmons trade was the last of the talent the Braves had. I think they kept the declining Freddie Freeman because he's a fan favorite and the few fans they have left would have thrown the towel in.
