It's too Damned Cold

After a relatively mild start to December round here (basically every day was above the average) it's too damned cold out now. I'm tired of it being negative double digit lows every day. This **** is supposed to happen in February. I understand this has something to do with the arctic jet stream around alaska moving up or something. Anyway **** it. This is February cold in December, I'm not ready for this. And weather projections aren't anticipating a breakup anytime soon.

The scary part for my neck of the woods is that they're talking about a breakup leading to a mild winter later, which could be devastating for the ski industry. Nothing sucks harder than mild winters. Last winter was a great winter for skiing, but the year before was miserable with mountains burning all their cash reserves to keep the people who booked their trips to stay.

Anyway, long story short, it's too cold, I want a normal winter. So far in New Hampshire I'm like 1 for 5 in normal winters, first 2 were super cold (thanks to the Arctic Blob) the next one was a super mild el nino winter, then last year was pretty fantastic.

Every winter I question why I live in NY. Lifes got to be better in Florida right?

I’d be fine being back in Colorado. Insane amount of sun throughout the year, snowboarding is pretty great, and the winters have cold days, but overall it’s plenty bearable.

Except when it's hotter than balls. Coastal living in the South sucked, especially in the winter months. 75 one day, 40 the next constantly. I wouldn't want to live in the North but I'm fine with colder temps. I've lived my whole life in the South and don't remember it ever being lower than about 5 degrees.

Nah, it’s still way better . Yeah 75 in winter must be unbearable

I like cold, and snow; I'll really miss it in a few years when it's gone.

I've been in northern AZ (where it's been warmer and drier than usual) and Las Vegas for the past two weeks. Excited for the 15F and two feet of snow waiting to greet me in MT.

But even if I wanted to live somewhere consistently warm, anywhere desert is where it's at. The coastal southeast is a torture zone.

Talking about wind chills near 10 on the Gulf Coast this week. Actually had a good snow three weeks ago. First time in over 20 years.

don't worry

our dumbass in chief and his stupid ****ing followers don't think climate change is a thing

so, you know, just deal with it

I lived there for sixteen years and it is my personal notion of Hell.

One of my favorite activities is golfing so I'm sure our experiences would be slightly different. I've heard your sentiments many times though
