I think an off season to recognize and work on that area of weakness could be in order.
Young guys need to have an opportunity to get better. I wouldn't give up on him after one season.
I just think going forward with a Castro/Peterson platoon could be better than Peterson every day. I think they could get us to albies in a few years.
This may be true, but taking away Peterson's ABs against lefties in a year that doesn't matter won't help. If we think he can be our everyday 2B, then we have to give him every opportunity to learn and improve.
We're not going to be a playoff team with a guy like Jace at 2b. Braves need to realize this. I remember when we went to the World Series in 91 and 92 with our 2b and his very solid negative WAR.
As long as Jace is inexpensive he can start on a contending team. Just need to use the money saved to fix other areas of the ball club. His value is in the fact that he costs nothing for a few years. And there's still a chance for improvement as he's young in major league experience.
i'm just glad the organization's top prospect is knocking on the door in AAA ready to fill that spot.
oh
I just started this thread to get jace going again haha
You're most likely right

Oh. Heh.
I was just going to suggest we not play him in July. July seems to be a bigger problem than LH pitching.
Hey, while we're here...I see his dWAR is .3. I seem to remember earlier in the year as he was establishing himself I was impressed with his crisp play at 2B and checked to see if his defensive metrics agreed with what I was seeing, that he was a well above average 2B. And I thought they were.
Now he's just barely average per WAR. I admit I haven't watched as much as we've slipped into this tailspin...has his defense hit a wall, too?
