I dont recall any other Vice President being threatened --- I would assume the same statute that is worded for a President would apply to a VP.

I thought Schumer's words disappointing and wrong.
On par to the bullseye attached to Gabby Giffords
where an unbalanced person could easily take it as a helter skelter moment.

I got hooked watching/listening during Watergate hearings
carried over to Iran-Contra, all 3 Impeachment hearings, Benghazi .
Supreme Court nominations (Bork,Thomas, Kavanaugh) etc.
I find them fascinating, kind of a look behind the curtain.
