If that's true then why did they fight tooth and nail to keep the files deleted and hidden for something we already know? How does that make sense?

Well your side had the chance to be a part of the committee with the only caveat being that witnesses cant be on the committee. And this is why they turned it down. They had no defense so best to not be a part and just throw rocks from outside. Your side is perfectly capable of doing their own investigation. Find all this exculpatory evidence you claim was deleted. They want no part in that. The reason they deleted the interview is because your side would selectively release interviews to their rabid cult where they dont like what the person said and that person would get harassed by the cult.
