I often use Democrat to save keystrokes, especially when I'm typing on a phone. I also feel it's more grammatically correct and less confusing than Democratic. The term "democratic mayor" could have several interpretations. So using democrat as an adjective is no slur for me.

Why the weird obsession about the lack of gun cases on 1/6?
Why the weird obsession about the lack of gun cases on 1/6? The most important point: who really cares if an insurrection is 'armed' or not if it's an insurrection. What a weird thing to be haggling over.
But if we want to haggle, there is video and photo evidence of bear mace, Molotov cocktails, stun guns, knives, clubs, bats, spears, sharpened flag poles, hockey sticks, etc.
Beyond the fact that there are at least three of them being charged for being in the Capitol with guns, is the other stuff ok? If a bunch of Muslims with knives or Antifa with baseball bats decided to descend on the Capitol and overwhelm law enforcement, I'm confident you'd be on board with calling it an armed insurrection.
But at least he thinks he’s brilliant lol
He’s one of them

Fake constitution boy in here still saying no big deal about people that tried to stop a transfer of power by doing their constitutional duty
Love to see
What a hack he is

The use of " Democrat " mayor etc was originated by McCarthy and brought back to life by Limbaugh, ----- intended as a slur. Accent on the last syllable.
He and the rest of the ditto heads thought it clever
Political opponents slightly mispronouncing your party's name is a very odd thing to get bent out of shape about. It's even odder to analogize it to racial slurs.
If I use a phrase like "Democrat mayor" it is not a slur. I maintain that's what it should have been from the beginning. Capital letters are difficult to convey in speech so "Democratic mayor" is unnecessarily confusing when "Democrat mayor" is an option.
For the record, I also intentionally put the periods outside quotation marks when they end a sentence but aren't part of the original quote. I know the proper grammatical practice is to put them inside the quotation marks but that makes no sense. It could also convey there was a period at the end of the quote that doesn't exist. It's unnecessarily confusing. I say this to let you know that I don't follow general practices of speech and grammar when I find them to be stupid.
