it's kind of weird

the people who i'm generally "aligned" with sometimes have bad ideas

and the people who I'm generally "not aligned" with sometimes have good ideas

it shouldn't be that hard to consider an idea or proposition on its own merits

i guess it's hard to resist the siren song of the ad hominem once that becomes your preferred response to ideas you don't like
