The crazy thing to me about Jan 6 is MAGA considers the slightest thing to be a coup against Trump. A media company that reports something they dont like. A coup. Fox news CEO literally saying their goal is to get Republicans elected and to destroy the President. Not a coup. Any Democrat investigating Trump. A politically motivated coup. Republicans investigations of Biden with the stated goal of taking down Biden. Not a coup. A whistleblower accusing Trump. A coup. A whistleblower accusing Biden. A patriot. They work from this narrative where they are the heroes who represent America even when America votes them into the minority and the other side evil personified who dont represent America even when they are the overwhelming majority. Thats why when they lose they are mindboggled. They ask questions like "why would such and such group vote to destroy America". Its easy for them to justify wanting to take voting rights from people because if they dont vote for Republicans they clearly dont have the mental capacity to vote. Its an issue for both sides. Despite what the Stooges here want people to believe I watch biased media from both sides. They both do it. If you actually think the other side wants to destroy America you need help. Obviously I dont like Trump but I dont doubt he wants America to prosper. He just wants the credit for that prospering so there is no level of success the country could have without him that he would admit to. I dont doubt that Bernie Sanders wants America to prosper despite knowing his economic policy would devastate the economy. What actually would destroy America is the minority being able to strong arm their way to retain power. The reason the second amendment is never really an option is because we have the right to vote for who we want. At the point where the overwhelming minority can retain power through shenanigans and the vote doesnt matter we wouldnt be the same country. Yet some people are so gaslighted that they still support the overthrowing of the government and disregarding the vote. Democrats believed they won in 2000 but they let it go. The Democrat nominee in 2016 got millions more votes than the Republican nominee but they let it go. And now we have Republicans with not a shred of reason to legitimately believe they won doing everything they claimed Democrats were doing to Trump without the slightest hint of self awareness. Politics is one giant psycology study it seems to me. And thats what fascinates me about everything right now. So many people with their heads purposely planted so far up their asses completely unaware of how they are being played by the people in power. I look forward to the restrospective we will have 20-50 years from now about this time.
