It would have been hard to blame the incel trolls for WW84 after Wonder Woman was a success. There was no real difference that would incite the incels. It was just a bad movie.
There have been plenty of examples in recent years of studios using online trolls as cover for a movie with issues. The perfect example is The Little Mermaid. Disney casts a black Ariel and so they know there will be trolls. If the movie is good, the trolls get no attention. If the movie is bad, the trolls get the blame.
The Little Mermaid wasn't great. The writing was suspect, Sebastian's accent was straight offensive, the musical direction was baffling, and Flounder was the stuff of nightmares. But what did Disney blame its poor performance on? Trolls attacking Ariel for being black.
There are almost always going to be trolls. When a movie is successful, there's no reason to acknowledge the trolls. When a movie fails, the trolls are a convenient excuse. If women hating trolls were the reason for female characters failing, why was Rouge One a success? Why was Wonder Woman a success?

Every live action disney remake of an animated classic is a cash grab. Some of them are well done cash grabs (I liked Jungle Book) but everyone is inferior to the original and they're just attempting to make money with no creative effort and basically take a well known property and cash in on people's nostalgia for it and have them take their kids/grandkids to it for a "shared" experience.
Kennedy didn't say projects failed because of trolls, she said it's hard to work on because of them. Which is true. Long before this show came out people were attacking the show runner. People were attacking Amandla Stenberg based on the trailer. Kennedy wouldn't be able to make that point if the projects failed. She only can make it if people are being attacked. Which is what's happening.
I wish people could be normal. If you don't like a property, stop consuming it. I grew tired of the Walking Dead really early on into it's run. I stopped watching it. I was a bit of a twat at the time. But I stopped caring. I gave my honest opinion when asked but didn't throw my opinion out there unprompted. I haven't played a COD, Madden, FIFA, etc. game in years. I dont' complain about them online. I may offer other opinions on them if asked (they should all be freemium games where DLC is upgraded rosters, new game modes, etc.) but I stopped the whole fight because it's more important to hype up the things you love rather than attempt to tear down the things you hate.
Except Rise of Skywalker, that just doesn't exist in my mind.
They are just trolls my guy.
Furiosa is a pretty good movie. It's not doing much at the box office but that shouldn't be much of a surprise. Fury Road wasn't a box office hit either. And this is a prequel with a "side character" with no Max. Marketing was suspect. It's hard to understand what studio heads are thinking sometimes.
I mean...immaculate births.....let's not undermine Anakin at all guys.

THey're thinking that it would capitalize on Fury Road and grow. Unfortunately there was a massive gap in release and a recast which makes people nervous.
I know why it was gonna fail but I can also Lament that people were vocal online and probably scared off some people from seeing it by being chuds.
I think your giving too much credit to online trolls.
But you pretty much nailed it. It's a recast of a side character in a pre-sequel. Make it make sense.

Warner ****ed the whole thing over because Miller had a grand plan and struggled with it. Instead of workign with him they pissed him off by making their own video game which sucked.
I mean Warner is kind of the worst studio. They have so many fantastic IPs, and just consistently **** the bed. How haven't they worked with Miller to make an animated show in the mad max universe yet? HOW
Should get back to Star Wars though.
And with that I'll say, JJ bringing back Anakin's lightsaber was moronic. I still don't understand the choice and it flies in the face of everything we know about Star Wars. Especially when Luke's Green Lightsaber was out there in the world. Or Rey could have made her own, or any other million of directions they could have gone. Nope here's the same lightsaber from Episode 7. Somehow Anakin's Lightsaber returned.
I agree about Warner. They are awful.
They’re trying to buy the rights to Harry Potter so they can make more movies with that Cast. JK Rowlings supposedly asked for Billions for the rights. I hope she doesn’t sell. **** those pieces of ****. They’d be nothing without her.

It had some bad issues with dialogue and those girls weren't great actors. But I actually really liked them exploring the damage the Jedi cause tearing children from their families. It's something I always have thought was harsh.

Kids aren't great actors generally. I didn't find the dialogue that bad, I think in a massive galaxy people having all kinds of different beliefs is believable. It's an interesting idea that Jedi aren't universally loved and sometimes hated. I didn't really buy the destruction, but I do get it.

Immaculate birth was implied not stated. For all we know she had sex with a jedi and stole their sperm. I mean not everything needs to be stated. Countless people claimed to be Jewish messiahs, it doesn't change the belief in Christ. EVen if other people had virgin births or force manipulations etc. Who cares. Anakin's legacy was already ruined by Rise of Skywalker's "SOMEHOW PALPATINE RETURNED" and the implication that only a Palpatine could kill a Palpatine.

Zito, I'm mostly just posting funny **** I'm reading on line regarding the show.
But there is no way you can watch this travesty and actually think it's good. Even disregarding the "woke" elements that so many to have a problem with, the story is just bad. Predictable plot tropes (evil twin? Is the Young and the Restless?). Mediocre dialogue. Bad plot holes. Even the world building and sets haven't been what you expect out of a Star Wars show with $180 million budget.
And episode 3 was just brutal. The acting, the chanting, all of it. And most importantly, it completely ****s on the entire Skywalker saga, basically rendering what made Anakin special to be irrelevant. I guess future episodes could offer a better explanation (clones), but what is currently being implied 100% diminishes the the Skywalker saga, and real Star Wars fans absolutely are justified to be livid about that.

I don't know if the show will wind up being good or not. We're 3 episodes in. We still have 5 episodes left. Where will it end up? I don't know. But unlike you I won't let my prejudices inform my opinion. For example, prejudiced Zito would have thought Fallout and Arcane would have sucked. He would have looked ofr any flaw. Instead I went into it open minded and really enjoyed both shows.
Also I have no clue what you're talking about with sets are you a ****ing moron? We've had a dope shot outside a trade federation ship. We've had an awesome city and the insides of a jedi temple, we've had the dope witches coven set. Come on. What are you talking about? I think you can fault anything if you dig hard enough into star wars under disney but one thing it hasn't been lacking is visuals. THat's why all the shows are so expensive is because they're paying for the latest and greatest ILM tech.

How does it **** on the entire skywalker saga? We haven't confirmed virgin birth. Even with that why would it matter? People claim virgin birth all the time when it's not real. I assume it was a ritual that could have been cloning but they also could have forced a jedi to have sex with them? I mean there's countless things that could be explanations. But you're basing all your ragebecause you read some live tweet/watched a youtube video from a grifter.
Also what you're talking about the myth of the chosen one was already invalidated by Rise of SKywalker where Palpatine returned and could only be beaten by the child of a clone of himself.
