Almost time!

So just got back from the theater. Really digged the movie. I avoided the reviews and subreddits to avoid spoilers, but really there weren't many. A few kind of shock character inclusions but overall not many.

Few things I'm disappointed about that I wish happened but didn't detract from the story, I'm just a nerd

1. More Vader. I'm a little mad that Vader wasn't in the film more. Don't get me wrong, I liked the scene where he ****ed up the troopers on the main rebel attack ship, but I wish it was more Vader killing ****. Though given the context of the films, Vader would have been too overpowered for the ground troops so I get it.

2. A shot of cyborg Hayden Christensen Vader. In a similar manner as we saw Sebastian Shaw. Would have been a cool shoutout to something we have to accept happened.

3. Someone survive. I know they had to kill almost everyone off to close plotholes. BUt it would have been nice for Jyn and Cassian to survive but have to go into hiding as severely wanted men.

What a movie.

10x better than Force Awakens.

Suck my nuts zeets this was a real Star Wars movie. People loved Force Awakens because it was anti Lucas and something fresh.

Rogue one was the combination of Lucas imagination with a competent director who respects that vision. The locations are so beautiful compared to FA.

Everything waa phenomenal. The K droid. Donnie Yen and his Buddy. Director. CGI Tarkin was so well done I legit thought I was seeing Peter Cushing. And then Darth Vader doing something we've never seen him do before and that's not look so stiff in that suit.

It is not 10 times better than Force Awakens. This is nothing like any other Star Wars film, so comparing to another Star Wars film on anything other than story, etc. is unfair.

K2SO was great and IMO the best character. Honestly the Pilot was throw away, I didn't care about Jyn as much as I expected to, I fully expected a lot more from Saw Guerrero than we got based on the trailer which kind of stinks as I was really excited to see him in action, Mendelson was a great villain.

Rogue one is a great film, but you couldn't be more wrong about why people liked TFA. The reason people loved TFA was it felt like the OT while still being new.

It baffles me that you think this is so much better than TFA cause it's under the exact same vision umbrella.

Vader wasn't doing something we've never seen him do before. He was doing things that we've seen but on a bigger scale. This was no less impressive than the RotJ duel.

Did anyone notice they CGI fixed Forest Whitaker's lazy eye as the young Saw Gerrera? They kept the lazy eye as the older version, probably to say it's like battle scar.

It was a great movie. Really like that they set up several different things for A New Hope. Now gives context to C3PO's line 'no escape for the Princess this time' among many other things. It's rare that a prequel enhances the next movie but Rogue One really does that.

Oh, really? I heard they fire the Death Star which ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT enhance the ANH. It contradicts it.

Don't click if you don't want to read some of the plot.
They did a few tests to question the functionality. An going drama with the story is Tarkin getting pissed at Krennic for the Death STar not being fully prepared to go yet. So they test it out a few times but not at full strength. So yes in ANH when they try it on Alderaan that's the first full blast they use.

Not to mention they digitally CGI fixed Forest Whitaker's lazy eye as a young Saw Guerra.

Nope

It was in test phase.

Dude, if you had actually watched ANH you would know that the Death Star's first test fire was on Alderaan. Furthermore, I heard it destroyed two cities on two seperate planets. No one even knew about the super weapon aside from the rebel spies. By not even destroying an entire planets, that makes the Death Star the worst kept secret in the cosmos.

They explain the first city in the film, the second was literally right before the events in ANH and the emperor dissolving the Senate.

And Tarkin never said it was a test he said "Princess Leia, before your execution, I'd like you to join me for a ceremony that will make this battle station operational" and

Other lines from ANH "Until this battle station is fully operational we are vulnerable" Emphasis mine.

They never fully tested it in Rogue One
