But based on all the evidence we have, that's exactly the relationship. The Braves run on revenue, and Liberty stays completely out of baseball decisions, including the budget. From everything I've read, Liberty has never told us what we can and cannot spend. The team is run on revenue, so if there is room, there's room.

I would love an owner who just throws out cash with no thought to revenues, but in reality that is incredibly rare. We actually don't have that bad a setup, we've just been hurt by the TV deal. The revenues from the new park should increase the budget by a pretty impactful amount.

I'm not saying that they are lying. More so that its conveniently true because basically every team's budget is based on revenue. We have no clue what percentage of revenue or what constitutes operating income. How teams choose to amortize or depreciate expenses is a total black box.

True, but everything I've heard or read from people in the Braves' FO hasn't just not been negative...it's been clearly positive in terms of their relationship with Liberty. I don't think Liberty is a fantastic owner, but I don't think we've been hurt by them, either.

I think the fans' anger at them is almost entirely misplaced. We haven't had a revenue stream set up to be able to spend a lot of money.
