Hearing rumblings that Jonny Gomes could get traded by #Braves today, as much for what he brings off the field as on it.
 
Great, great, guy. However, I'd prefer he is not holding a spot on this 25-man roster next year.

There are a few teams in on Jonny Gomes, per source. Candidate to be dealt by 4.
 
Gomes is definitely one of those players that I'd be happy if we traded even for a low upside relief prospect. A mediocre young player with years of control beats what Gomes brings to our team as constructed.
 
I can't believe that we would get anything back of value for Gomes. I'll be happy with anything.
 
I could see us packaging Aardsma or Frasor with him and eating the remaining salary this year to try and coax a halfway decent prospect

Probably not, but you never know. Contending teams are always looking for bench help. Plus, veteran leadership and championship experience are two things Gomes brings. Is he going to bring a team's top 25 prospect? Probably not. But, we'll see what he brings, providing he's dealt.
 
If moved, its my guess that Gomes would bring us cash considerations. He's too far past his prime to bring us a pitching prospect coming off TJ. ;)
 
I have no problem with dealing Gomes. It doesn't matter what we get back. Trade him to a contender and let him have another shot at a ring.
