Kevin Gryboski

Anytime Now Frankie...
What's your favorite Kevin Gryboski memory/moment with the Braves? Man that guy was really something, everytime he came in the game with that hard unhittable sinker it was a double play waiting to happen to get out of a jam. One of the best to ever come out of the bullpen IMO for the Braves.

No love for Dan Kolb, "the physique" Bob Wickman, Ray "Burger" King, or Chris Reitsma?

Don't forget Charlie Kerfeld!

Is that dude wearing a mac under his jersey?

On topic: It's amazing that he was the one dude who we re-signed from our super pen in 2002. He was also here from then through part of the 2005 season IIRC, which is a long time for us to employ someone so mediocre.

Favorite memory? Gryboski coming in to a bases loaded jam against the Cardinals and, somehow, inexplicably, striking out peak Pujols and Rolen to end the inning.

If I recall correctly I think he threw a slider to one of the them, one of about 3 total that he threw during his tenure with the Braves. Otherwise it was sinker sinker sinker sinker sinker and it was a good sinker at that. Maybe the best ever.

In terms of pitching, he was bad. Look at his numbers. His control was even worse than your favorite Newcomb.

The "Burger King" nickname is still my favorite nickname ever. It was just so perfect and made me laugh every time he came into the game. No matter the situation, I'd laugh.
