Kiley McDaniel

Wow, this is awesome. I assume Coppy is most responsible for this since he used to work for Coppy. Love it.

This saddens me. As good of a hire this appears on the surface, it can't come close to matching how much I enjoyed reading his prospect reports.

Right, I'm a loyal Fangraphs reader and looked forward to the prospect discussions each week. Pretty cool though

This is an EXCELLENT hire for the Braves organization, although I agree that it is a loss to no longer have the benefit of Kiley's combined scouting and analytical approach to prospect evaluation. Perhaps now instead of saying we are going to flip some veteran we took a flier on for a "top 50 prospect", we can say - with a straight face- we can flip said veteran for a "FV 50 prospect".

Kiley knows every single teams' farm system inside and out and knows both the cream of the crop as well as some of the under the radar types. I know traditional scouts do too but he adds another layer to the analysis. I'd expect the Braves' secondary pieces in trade to substantially improve with Kiley in the fold.

Hopefully Maitan and Gutierrez keep in mind all the nice things he had to say about them. :)

Get Kiley to post here. :)

That was my first thought as well. Great hire

This is a good observation, but I would contend that he's basically published much of that information so it's not like the Braves have unique access to his information.

I like this hire because I like Kiley. But don't get me wrong, it's because I like him as an Internet personality. We will see if that translates well to his new role.

He worked for a website and somehow he's qualified to be in a major league front office? Well SAV owns a website so I wonder what he's qualified for?

In addition to what wupk mentioned about his experience as a scout, have you seen the content he puts out? Dude was basically doing this job and giving it to Fangraphs readers for free.
