If Pastornicky does get sent down, he can point at two plays at second on Tuesday that he should have made. ESPN's Boone (a former infielder) was critical of the effort on both plays, which he correctly pointed out would have been routine for Pedroia.

I wonder if his leg is a hundred percent. Baseball is a results-oriented business and a fringy player like Pastornicky has to seize whatever opportunities come his way, gimpy leg or not. Hopefully, he will use the time in AAA to get back into top playing shape. His competition for a trip back to the major will include guys like Gosselin and Elmer Reyes. He's got to show he's better than them.
