Every time you fall for it.

"The Surgical Gender Affirmation Program treats teens and young adults. We work closely with patients and families to make decisions about surgery age and timing. Patients must be 18 or older by the time of surgery for gender-affirming genital procedures. For other surgeries, timing depends on many factors, like the patient’s stage of puberty and how surgery fits with the rest of their gender-related healthcare. A typical age is mid-teens or older. We treat some patients through age 26 for gender-affirming surgery.

Genital surgeries for other reasons — such as tumors, differences in sex development (DSDs) or fertility preservation — are offered through other Seattle Children’s programs, like our DSD Program, Urology, Gynecology or Reconstructive Pelvic Medicine."

Again, when someone is 18 they can do what they want. I think most people know that aspect of themselves at a younger age. I knew I was a straight man very confidently in high school. If someone had that same level of confidence in being transgendered why should I deny them?

How many mutilating procedures in people under 18 would be too many for you to support?

Here is some data from insurance claims (note that many insurance won't cover these treatments for minors yet)

Ages 13-17

Last year

56 genital surgeries
776 mastectomies
14,726 starting hormone treatment

Tell me at what number of mutilated children zito and 57 are not comfortable supporting?
