Bring on succession. The north will die off in two decades easy with these idiots running the show.

Wasn't she posting like 3 days ago about how harassing public figures like Kavanaugh is totally called for?

I hope she gets harassed everywhere she goes

Nothing Kavanaugh could dream of doing could compete with the destruction AOC is calling for. She should never live another day in peace ever again. Harass her every day in public nonstop

AOC is the MTG of the left.

I disagree. I think AOC is hyper-partisan to a point where she willfully ignores facts that disagree with her position. I think MTG is just an outright lunatic. AOC is more like if Ben Shapiro were in office, where he’d know what he was saying is dishonest, but didn’t care.

I'll agree that MTG is absolutely insane. I call AOC the MTG of the left because her partisanship has caused her to lose connection with reality. Truth does not matter to either MTG or AOC. Truth is whatever fits ideology. They're both absolute clowns who have no business holding public office.

Both of them are exactly what's wrong with American politics. They're such extremists that they shun any attempt to find a consensus and believe their opponents must be destroyed.

Our problem is not with the MTG's and AOC's. It is with people in real positions of authority not knowing how to talk and negotiate with each other. I'm more concerned that credibly accused creepy joe and Chuck Schumer (seasoned politicians who should have the necessary skills) can't cut a deal with Joe Manchin. It seems to me there is some good legislation (on renewable energy and taxes in particular) they could advance if they accommodated Manchin's concerns.

It is telling that last year Nancy Pelosi spent more time trying to reach out to and understand and accommodate Manchin's concerns than Schumer did. Schumer is past his primary so he should get off his duff.

Then you clearly don't know my feelings for MTG. She's my rep and I cannot stand her. I hate extremist politics and want ranked choice voting so we can bounce morons like these two.

AOC beat a ten term democratic incumbent to win her seat. And by a LOT.

MTG moved somewhere to win a seat as a Trump sycophant. Their path to the house was far from similar and ranked choice would likely have a much bigger effect on Greene.

AOC is a super liberal. But I don't think I'd call her extremist. Did she heckle Trump with Ohman during any of trump's SotU?

I think that's a real problem too and I think the AOC's and the MTG's feed the problem. The seasoned politicians who should be making deals are struggling to deal with the radical wings of their parties. AOC and MTG are chief voices in these radical wings and they pull their leaders away from the middle. Even the party leaders have to be concerned that if they make too many compromises they might be primaried by an extremist from their own party or else have their party revolt and remove them from leadership.

I'd absolutely call AOC an extremist. To borrow your phrase you'd have to wear heavy blue shaded glasses to think anything else.

And equating AOC to MTG has nothing to do with their paths to their seats. It's that both are so blinded by ideology that they really have no connection with reality. Both of these people could be presented with empirical facts contradicting what they believe and they'd simply disbelieve the facts. Both of these people make outlandish, embarrassing statements with no basis in reality on a regular basis.

Then there's the effect both these people have on the political discourse. They're rallying points for the extremes of their parties. They don't see their job as having to work with the other side to effectively govern, they see their job as having to destroy the other side. It's a zero sum game. Any compromise is a complete defeat.

I'll admit that MTG is legitimately crazy. Things like the jewish space laser nonsense reveal that. But as far as their ideology induced blindness and their roles in the extremes of their parties, they're two sides of the same coin.

Polling reflects the policies AOC champions to be rather mainstream.

Fox turned GND into a punching bag. Seperating the parts from the whole tells a whole other story

Being a (R) it is understandable your feelings.
But equating her with an illiterate ?
I thought better of you than to latch onto the Fox narrative like a dog with a bone

You can't just be like "one's ultra liberal, one is ultra nationalist same coin" when talking about 2 people one of whom is legit insane. I would say based on voting records your opposite to AOC would be closer to Liz Cheney, Pete Stauber, Jack Bergman, etc.

There's a whole lot of people on both sides who're very liberal or very conservative. AOC I disagree with your assessment, she doesn't see her job as destroying the other side, She sees her job as pushing the nation to the left. Including her party.

Fox turned GND into a punching bag.

The GND legislation that AOC championed was a trojan horse. It was a left-wing wish list for a lot of things that had very little to do with climate change. Maybe her approach to this issue will be vindicated (from her perspective) in the long run. But I can't help but think it has actually retarded progress on climate change legislation.

nonsense.
There was a time when GOP said it was Al Gore to blame for stalled climate legislation
It isnt about the climate to them (Koch etc) nor is it about abortion and it's culture war brothers. it is about deregulation and neutering the New Deal.

That has been the goal of the right since 1933-34.
These wedge issues --- see them for what they are

MTG is probably 100x more intelligent than AOC

We know this because we saw AOC wearing a mask outside... Yesterday.

Such a visual display of stupidity is very appreciated

How can anyone see what's happening in sri Lanka or Netherlands or countless other countries who went green, and still want to push that here
