Until recently, the Washington Post had a graph of daily COVID deaths in the US (an improving number) fixed on their homepage. They've since switched to a graph showing daily new cases (a worsening number). Nothing to see here.

No, we're not upset. We're wondering what motivated the change. Was it simply that fear sells and they want to increase traffic and subscriptions? Or something else?
